ADBE: Junk Software & A Junk CEO
Yesterday I did a software purge. Adobe Creative Cloud (the local version), was one of the software packages I purged from an old machine that I refurbed. To remove the local version of Adobe (give me a break, the laptop in question was almost 10 years old), I had to jump through hoops, which speaks volumes about how Adobe treats customers. Prices go up every year in exchange for having more bloatware appended to your subscription. Zero incremental value in my view.
Shantanu Narayen (ADBE’s CEO), is a CEO that I have never liked. It shows in the numbers. Narayen is near the bottom of the pack with a “19” AlphaScore on CEORater. He regularly underperforms the QQQ despite being one of the most expensive CEOs, costing approximately $1.2 million for every percentage of TSR generated (see our methodologies HERE).
